Wooler
The town of Wooler is found in the North West part of the County, in the District of Glendale, a part I know well from my school days, not a large place, but is a popular gateway to the Cheviot Hills, overlooking the town.
There are plenty of shops and accommodation for those who wish to stay awhile, explore the hills and beautiful countryside.
For the more energetic, who wish to climb "Cheviot", take the road to Middleton Hall then on to Langlee Ford through Happy Valley (a real sun trap in the summer,
ideal for picnics, where even the sheep will help you empty your Hamper.) From Langlee
Ford you can start your climb, Cheviot stands at( 2676 ft).
