The fan
Toon Army

The day in the life of a fan.

Newcastle United is the club that I have supported since I was a boy, attending my first match, with my father, at the age of 8 years old. I remember, it was a testimonial match, the invited star player was Raich Carter, then at the end of his career.

A lot of water has run under the Tyne Bridge since that game, apart from the Fairs Cup win, when I use to hitch hike, from Chatton in North Northumberland, a couple of Cup Finals, F.A. Cup Liverpool lost 3-0, I was standing in the Liverpool end would you believe!!!!! then another defeat at the hands of Manchester City 2-1 with the famous Dennis Teuart overhead kick, the club has never covered its self in the glory, the fans deserved.

But then along came Sir John Hall, Kevin Keegan, the Toon Army was formed, so the last five years have been like being in a wonderland, with so many exciting moments, it would take hours to record them, but as fans we remember our own special moment, Newcastle 5 Manchester Utd 0 was that not just magic!!!!!!!!
